Welcome to Appleton Christmas Barn — where Christmas truly comes to life

We’re a family-run farm with a deep-rooted love for the festive season, and for the past 17 years we’ve been proud to help families create cherished memories at this magical time of year.

Appleton Christmas Barn first opened its doors in 2008, the creation of David and Ione, who wanted to share their passion for Christmas and their family farm with others. For generations, Christmas trees had been sold from the farmhouse, but David and Ione saw the opportunity to add a little more sparkle — and so, Appleton Christmas Barn was born.

What began as a small, heartfelt venture has since grown into a much-loved local tradition. Our shop has expanded to offer an ever-changing collection of beautiful decorations and festive treasures, all hand-picked and chosen by Ione, and our Christmas tree selection has grown to include a wide variety of premium trees.

Family remains at the heart of everything we do. David is the fifth generation to farm here, and George is proudly following in his footsteps as the sixth. George works closely with David on the Christmas trees, ensuring every one is healthy, full, and ready to take pride of place in your home. Meanwhile, Charlotte brings her creativity and warmth to the business — she helps run the shop when it’s open, curates its enchanting displays alongside Ione, and looks after our social media, sharing the magic of the farm and barn with families near and far.
These reindeer are at the heart of the festive magic we share each year, delighting visitors young and old alike.
Over the years, we’ve watched our little Christmas Barn community grow — from our first customers to the families who now visit us annually as part of their holiday traditions. Seeing familiar faces return, and new ones join in the magic, is the greatest gift of all.

When Christmas is over and the decorations are packed away, the farm remains as busy as ever. From caring for our Angus herd to tending the trees, willows, and wildflowers, there’s always something growing, thriving, and connecting us to the land.
So whether you’re searching for the perfect tree, browsing for decorations to make your home sparkle, or simply soaking up the festive spirit, we’re delighted to welcome you.

From our family to yours — thank you for being part of our story, and for letting us be part of your Christmas traditions. We can’t wait to see you again at Appleton Christmas Barn.
But it’s not just trees and tinsel that make our farm special — it’s also our animals. We’re home to a small herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle, beautiful black (and the occasional ginger!) cows that you may be able to spot in the surrounding fields, along with fields of Christmas trees, cricket bat willows, crops, and wildflowers, and areas of cherished woodland. And, of course, we’re also home to our wonderful reindeer family:
Tiny Tim, born in 2009 and joined us in 2011, is our gentle, wise old soul.
Sámi, who came to us in October 2021, brings calm curiosity and charm to the herd.
And Frankincense — affectionately known by us as Goose — is the son of Sámi and Bonnie, one of our beloved reindeer who sadly passed away early last year. Goose was born on this farm and a personality that remind us so much of his mum, making him a truly special part of our family.

Confused why we call him Goose? Head over to our Instagram and you'll soon see where the nickname came from!
